Mayor Al Suarez was born in San Antonio, Texas, a graduate of Brackenridge High School, San Antonio, Texas served in the United States Air Force for 21 years as an Air Traffic Controller & Security Police Specialist. Served 23 years with the Bexar County Criminal District & County Courts Adult Probation Department. Holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Management & Administration, Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice & Corrections, Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology & Behavioral Management, Associate’s degree in Airway Science, and Associate’s degree in Security Administration. Honor Graduate of the Air Traffic Control Specialist Program and graduate of the Air Force Security Police Academy. Elected to the Converse City Council Place-1 in May 2006 and Mayor of Converse in May 2007, re-elected to a seventh term as Mayor in November 2019 with 64% of the vote. Chairman of the Greater Bexar County Council of Cities, Former Chairman of the Northeast Partnership for Economic Development, President of the Judson Education Foundation, Vice President of San Antonio Orthopedic Foundation, Judson ISD Bond Oversight Committee. American Legion Post 593 member, VFW Post 8541 member, Former Alamo Honor Flight Guardian, Converse Lions Club member and member of St Monica Catholic Church.
