Bulk Items

Acceptable / Unacceptable Materials

The City contracts for a monthly bulk item pick-up of oversized or heavy (65+ pound) items such as furniture, appliances, lumber, etc., for our residential customers. The following items are not accepted as bulk items: any hazardous items (paint, tires, refrigerants, batteries, etc.), construction materials (concrete, bricks, landscaping rocks, etc.), and brush (tree limbs). No TV's, Computers or Glass. You must have an active utility account with the City of Converse in order to be placed on the bulk list. No bulk piles may be bigger than 6 cubic feet.

Scheduling a Pick-Up

To schedule a pick-up, call (210) 658-1965. You may also request services online. To ensure that you are included in the current Bulk pick-up list, the City must be notified no later than the Friday before the third full week of the month by noon. Any notifications received after that will be scheduled for the following month. Please click the Bulk Pick-up Calendar to view the date for Bulk Pick-up dates. The street sweeper is scheduled to sweep streets the last full week of each month, in exception to December, please refer to sweeper calendar.  Please click Street Sweeper Map Schedule  to view your sweeping  area or click Area Street List to see a complete list of street names. Please make sure that vehicles are not parked on the street. Brush is picked up three times a year according to area zones.


Item Placement

Please place your bulk items curbside in front of the home, and ensure the materials do not cover the water meter or lay directly under power lines.
